YF Rally 05 / I found out something

Now Playing : Hillsongs United - My God

Last Saturday, my church had a YF Rally and it was ........ great!! The event went on well and smooth, but started 30 minutes late, as we were waiting for more youths to come. Pastor Victor Gonzales was suppose to come as a special speaker to speak on that night, but he had to attend a wedding as he have to perform. Instead, we got Pastor Lamont Hartman (I wonder if the spelling is right) to come on that night to speak. He's a global missionary and also involve with youth ministry. He didn't talk on the word of God much, but he gave great testimonies. He came along with our Youth Camp 2004, Pastor Ryan Landis.

Other than that, I LOVE THE YIC MUSIC BAND!! Thank you Cax, Eric, Ee Leen, Jade, Joseph and Jermz for playing on that night! Also, not forgetting our God who was with us throughout the whole rally that night! We had only 2 music practices which was the week before and the Saturday itself. The Saturday music practice was a blast, and everyone did a great job!! Every musician played their part in each songs. Also, everything was under control and we had a good sound balance. Too bad we didn't have enough time to play all the Praise and Worship songs that we practised, but still, the whole session was excellent. Great job once again!

Today I found out something in my house. For 17 years, I only know that there is only 1 bass in the house, which is the 4-string Ibanez bass that I always use. On 23 of August, 12:03AM in USJ 13 Sri Melur, my dad told me that he got another bass guitar in the house other than the Ibanez bass. As usual, I was *suprised* to hear that. When I got home, I quickly took out the guitar and wanted to test it out. As I took the bass out, 1 string was broken, and all the strings were rusted. Therefore, I wasn't able to test out the bass.

Lemme intro the bass guitar abit... It's a 5-string Vantage bass guitar. It was made in Korea. The weight is way much lighter than the Ibanez and not as old as the Ibanez. The design looks almost the same as the Ibanez, but it doesn't have the extra knobs like the Ibanez bass. My dad didn't use this bass because he doesn't really like the way that the Korean design it. It's not really nice to play the bass, that's why my dad kept the bass on top of the cupboard for years. Here are some pics of the bass before I end my entry for today.

I dunno how to play bass

Playing now : Always and Forever - Planet Shakers

YF Rally 2005 is coming up this Saturday. Everyday hear YF Rally songs and songs and songs only. I've to practise bass for this whole week as the songs aren't easy as I thought. Well, hope everyone in the band do practise everyday too ^^ Saturday is the last practise before the Rally starts >.<

Today I had an intensive bass training with my dad. The reason I had to do so is because of YF Rally and I dunno how to play the bass. Proof?? Hmmmm well you can check out the pics below.

From those pics, it shows that I didn't play bass as much before. Therefore, I dunno how to play bass~

Wireless keyboard officially spoiled

Playing now : Away From The Sun - Three Doors Down

Yes, you read the title, and you know it. My wireless keyboard broke down suddenly while I was Mapling =.=" I don't know what happened to it... I changed to a full recharged batteries, but it didn't work too. The keyboard is working fine actually, it's just the receiver thingy, which doesn't receive any signal from the wireless keyboard. So all I can say, my keyboard is OFFICIALLY spoiled, unless miracle happen where my keyboard will be working again... lol and that is up to my dad to do it XD By the way, I'm not use to this keyboard at all =.=" It gives me the weird feeling when I'm typing.

Today I've watched something interesting on teevee!!! Not p0rn of cos, but it's about engineering and physics! The show is called Megastructure on National Geographic. It's about the Akashi Kaikyo, which is currently the World Longest Suspesion Bridge ever built. I was amazed on how this jap fellas designed and calculated on the bridge so that the tragedy on 9 November 1940, which is collapsed of the Tacoma Bridge won't happen again. The japanese took 3 decades to work on the design of the Akashi Kaikyo bridge, and took 10 years to build it, and they have to delay the project for a month due to one of the biggest earthquake that hit Japan in 1995. Because of the earthquake, the bridge went out of alignment, and the Jap took instant action to calculate and work on the bridge. It's really cool... Perhaps I should get link about Akashi Kaikyo bridge and you guys should check it out.

I wonder if I'm gonna be an engineer or IT... I find very interesting watching this kind of shows. Recently last week, I watched Megalightning on Discovery channel, which was about the terror-ness of lightning where scientists found out that actually there is positive lightning. All the while, we learned in Physics that lightning has only negative. As I watch this shows, I did question myself on how amazing this scientists found all this out, and also how actually the Columbia shuttle was destroy... Not because of technical problem, but it was actually hit by lightning.

Today's post might be boring to you, about science and technology... But to me, I find it very very interesting XD So I might consider myself to be an engineer. But to be one of them ain't easy, as it involve alot of calculation and physics. How about IT Engineering?? I shall think about it... after my SPM XD

By the way, here is the link about the World Longest Suspension bridge... http://www.hsba.go.jp/bridge/e-akasi.htm and http://www.absoluteastronomy.com/encyclopedia/h/ho/honshu.htm

Haze from Sumatera is terrible

Playing Now : Fall Out Boy - Sugar We're Going Down

The haze was terrible for this few days, since Tuesday if I'm not mistaken. When I was walking to futsal, the thick haze was ahead of me, and I can hardly see anything which is around..hmmm 50-80 meters away from me. Thanks for the forest burning in Indon =.=

Futsal was great on Tuesday, cos of a jap guy that came to Malaysia for the Youth Exchange Program. He stayed in my friend's place for 2 weeks, and will be goin off this Thursday, which is tmrw. This guy is great... At least he can understand and speak English, but not that fluent. My friends and I did had a great time with him throughout the 2 weeks, and today is 1 of the day that he came to school and join in the class. I dunno whether he was bored throughout the whole day in school, but I guess not... I hope

Anyway streamyx was down yesterday for the whole day at my area. Don't know what happened =.=" One of my friend and I who stays in the same area couldn't connect. Today, it's back to normal...

End of the month

Now Playing : Do As Infinity - Tooku Made

Haven't been blogging since ma Raub trip with the YF-ers and the other church members. Well today I would like to share something, that's the reason I've the "semangat" to post an entry here.

Had bak kut teh for dinner today with my parents. While having dinner, we talked a few stuffs, but what caught my attention the most was when my dad said that my bro planned to sell of he's car. I was shocked, just for 1 second =P The reason was because that my bro couldn't upkeep with he's car down payment and also the insurance. Other than that, he's house is already ready and my dad helped him yesterday with the furnish and all. My dad said the payment for the house wasn't as heavy as the car, as the house payment is long term, or something like that.

Back to the car, it was sad to me when I heard that he was planning to sell. He'll lose thousands for that car if he sells the car, and planned to buy another cheaper car. Dad was kinda sad too cos' my dad advised him earlier not to get such an expensive car at the moment. For your info, the car is Hyundai Getz, which cost around RM70k. It takes 7 years to finish up the down payment for that car, and the car is only 1 year old. Another 6 years to go, and my bro can't take it anymore >_> It's sad really... and my bro said that it was he's mistake to buy this car. Hellllooo?? My dad already advised him earlier already, but doesn't wants to listen. That is why he bought the car. Yet, my bro earns more than my dad!! Wow... and my dad is paying up the bills for the house >.< Mum also did earn some money from baby-sitting to support the family.

I wouldn't wanna blame my bro for this cos he did help me out sometimes and bought some stuffs that I can use, such as PS2 and Xbox, but hope he does learn some lessons... *I hope*... Yea, also for me to learn from this so that this wouldn't happen on me. Learn the hard way, but the reward really brings good benefit. So, do listen to your parents!! Do not let money take over you to own the wanted stuffs. Well, if you have the money, you can buy what you want, but spend it wisely... That is really important.
